(Indianapolis, IN) This weekend, the Indiana Invaders travel to Bloomington, Indiana to compete in the Indiana Relays held at Gladstein Fieldhouse at Indiana University.

The two-day event will feature three competing team members spanning Friday night and Saturday competition. Leading the Invaders crew on this weekend will be Drake Sterling in the Invitational 800.  Opening the weekend's competition Friday night will be Invaders newcomers, Jeremiah Vaughan and Adam Lang.

Sterling is the Indiana Relays Invitational 800 Defending Champion with his featured race slated for 3:25 pm EST on Saturday. Sterling competed last weekend at IU’s Gladstein Invitational 600 meters where he set a personal best of 1:18.72 in the Invitational 600 meters finishing as Runner-Up. Sterling was a USA Indoor National 800 meter qualifier in 2012 during his first season with the Invaders.

Particular interest this weekend to Invaders fans should be the debut of the new team members, Jeremiah Vaughan and Adam Lang. Vaughan, who joined the team in late December brings potential over the middle distances with notable range from 800 thru 3000 meters.

Vaughan, who graduated in December from Indiana State University, excelled as a leader on the track for the Sycamores. While at ISU, he notched notable personal bests of 1:50.89 (800 meters), 3:45.23 (1500 meters), 4:04.04 (Mile), and 8:08.78 (3000 meters).

Vaughan will compete in the Invitational section of the Men’s Mile on Friday night with the race set for 7:10 pm EST.

Adam Lang signed with the team this past fall. He will compete in the Invitational section of the Men’s 600 at 7:45 pm EST Friday night. Lang, a graduate of Wisconsin Stevens-Point brings Personal Bests of 47.9 at 400 meters and 1:50.03 for 800 meters to the Invaders roster.  Lang is returning to training and competition after sitting out as a collegiate coach his initial season after college gradution.

Coach Greg Harger said, "The Indiana Relays provide excellent national class competition here in our home state while we train and prepare for USA Indoor Nationals qualification attempts for selected members of our team" Harger added, "For Sterling, Saturday's race is another test as a defending champion for a major meet as he progresses to the next level.  Vaughan and Lang are solid additions to our growing roster and both have very solid up-side prospects in the coming season and Olympic cycle".
